The Short and Sweet Yoga Course
This course is designed for those with busy schedules who want to practice yoga regularly to maintain or regain fitness and flexibility. By combining breath and movement, it helps reduce stress and promotes overall health. The course is suitable for all fitness levels and offers variations for different abilities. In 30-minute yoga sessions, you'll work on key areas like hips, legs, shoulders, and core strength, improving flexibility, balance, and mobility. Each class starts with a warm-up and breathwork, progressing to challenging flows and poses. The course is divided into categories meant to be followed consecutively to prevent burnout, making it accessible and effective for all.
Individual Classes
Flow, Twist and Stretch
In this class, you'll discover fundamental warm-up sequences that engage your entire body. As you advance, we'll move into twisting postures, dynamic stretches, and the synchronization of your breath with movement. This will provide your body with a flowing and comprehensive workout experience.
Stamina and Cardio
Cardiovascular exercise is a crucial component of any fitness regime, essential for maintaining a healthy heart and strong lungs. This class is designed to make you sweat, stretch, and feel invigorated. It will prepare you for the upcoming Gentle Yoga class, providing your body with a well-deserved break.
Gentle Yoga
This session is all about moving at a gentle, unhurried pace, harmonising your breath with your movements to create a meditative experience. It provides you with the opportunity to unwind and maintain a supple and healthy body. This practice is ideal for easing tension in the body and soothing the mind.
Mind and Body Balance
This class focuses on enhancing your ability to maintain stability in both standing and kneeling yoga poses. The sequence is designed to help you grasp the sensation of proper posture alignment and how to attain equilibrium through practice. Strengthening your ankles, wrists, legs, arms, and core.
Flexible Hips Yin
With special emphasis on opening the hips, this session will delve into the art of quieting the mind while maintaining poses for extended durations, typically 3-5 minutes, in a safe and sustainable manner. This allows us to access and to penetrate deep into the fascia in your body
Strength
Strength is essential for maintaining alignment and enables deep, unrestricted breathing during challenging poses. We'll focus on building wrist, ankle, arm, leg, and core strength, with a mindful and safe approach. Over time, you'll witness your progress and development by revisiting this class.
Twisting Time Again
Welcome to the second installment of our flow, twist and stretch sequences. This class carries on with full-body warm-up flows, followed by an exploration of twists, dynamic stretches, and the synchronisation of your breath with movement.
Cardio Fitness
We will revisit Sun Salutation A and B in this session, emphasizing the significance of cardiovascular exercise in your fitness routine. Sweating, stretching, and revitalizing your body are key components of this class.
Slow Flow
This session encourages a leisurely pace, allowing your breath to harmonise with your movements for a meditative experience. It's your opportunity to unwind and nurture a supple, healthy body with minimal exertion.
Building on Balance
Continuing from the initial balance class, this session introduces more
challenging balancing poses while revisiting some familiar ones, all
with various modifications and exciting additions to keep you engaged.
Healthy Spine Yin
In this class, we will get deep into the body to enhance your flexibility and provide a balanced counterpart to your dynamic yang vinyasa practice. Today's session zeroes in on the spine and shoulders, incorporating twists, backbends, and folds.
Finish Strong
We will revisit some familiar flows and poses, while introducing new techniques and focusing on stretching, breathing, and maintaining a flowing practice. This marks the end of our current series of yoga videos, so let's finish strong.
